Update: Entering Phase 2 in Norwegian Municipality Partnership Project

Intric and the municipalities of Ringsaker, Kongsvinger, and Stange, together with Indigo IKT, are now entering phase 2 of their joint AI initiative. The focus remains on tangible operational value, with the aim of improving quality, increasing efficiency, and freeing up resources in everyday municipal operations.

Progress so far – Phase 1 completed

During the first phase of the project, Intric, in close collaboration with the organizations, mapped and prioritized the processes where AI is expected to deliver the greatest value. This provides a clear foundation for targeted testing and implementation going forward.

Engagement and knowledge sharing across the sector.

Last week, Intric participated in a webinar hosted by KS Digital with 350+ participants. Attendees came from multiple municipalities across Norway, with strong interest in what the project entails in practice. Participants were also encouraged to share experiences from their own AI initiatives to collectively strengthen the knowledge base and further improve processes.

This week, Intric also took part in the "AI in the public sector" conference in Oslo, organized by GoForIT. The purpose was to create a meeting place for public–private collaboration on generative AI. Intric ran a seminar on the project and its approach, took part in other insightful talks, and hosted an open space that led to many fruitful discussions.

Phase 2 starts now

With the mapping in place, Intric is launching a broad capability-building training program across the organizations. In parallel, testing the AI solutions in the prioritized processes, such as chatbots, transcription, analytics, and decision support, starts. Always with clear value objectives and continuous evaluation against applicable laws, ethics, and security.

The goal is to streamline and improve case processing and realize time and cost savings, while developing scalable solutions that can be shared and reused by other municipalities and organizations. The project spans multiple phases and is initially planned to run for three years. Funding is provided through discretionary grants from the State Administrator and resources within the municipalities and Indigo IKT IKS.
